๐Ÿš€ Devlog #1 โ€“ Health System, Player Controls, and Asteroid Mechanics!


Hey everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm super hyped to share the latest updates on my game "Cross it" โ€“ a fast-paced space survival adventure Iโ€™ve been cooking up with a lot of love (and a few all-nighters ๐Ÿ˜…).

๐Ÿฉบ Health System Added!

The player now starts the game with 100% health, and every time an asteroid hits the ship, health decreases by 20%. Once it hits 0, itโ€™s game over. This adds a real sense of danger and makes dodging feel way more meaningful!

โ˜„๏ธ Asteroid Mechanics โ€“ First Pass โœ…

Iโ€™ve implemented basic asteroid spawning and movement across the screen. Currently, they move from right to left in landscape mode, giving that classic space shooter vibe. But I'm not done yet…

๐Ÿš€ Player Movement Up and Running!

The player can now touch and drag the rocket anywhere on the screen. It feels super smooth and makes the gameplay feel dynamic and responsive.

๐Ÿ”ง What I'm Working On Right Now:

  • Asteroid Rework: Making their movement patterns more challenging and varied as the player progresses.

  • Player Control Polish: Adding more responsiveness and maybe some cool motion trails to make it feel even more satisfying.

  • Dynamic Levels Based on Score:

    • Level 1: Simple asteroid movement

    • Level 2: Faster and more aggressive

    • All based on how high the player's score goes during gameplay.
